Matteo Fontana is triathlon world champion IM 70.3 with Kt05 Kuota
MONT TREMBLANT - QUEBEC (CAN): Matteo Fontana, athlete of the DDSt team of Settimo Milanese has gained the title of World Champion in the discipline Triathlon IM 70.3 category 18/24. The race took place in Mont Tremblant in Quebec (Canada) and was won by the Italian from the Milanese Hinterland in 4h:07':35" followed by the Canadian Pierre Marc Doyon (4':08':33") and the American Iain Alexandridis (4h:08':43").
The race was very difficult and after returning to his home town Carate Brianza, the world champion Fontana, born in 1992 commented: “It was a very hard race, especially during the fraction run where I suffered from an intestine problem but hard work and sacrifices always lead to results. I wish to thank all the people who have encouraged and followed me over the past few years, my family, the DDS team and Kuotacycle.
Fontana’s career as a cyclist started at the VC Sovico for which he participated in cycling races until the Under 23 category before changing over to triathlon, which he has been practising constantly for just 18 months thanks to the support of the DDS team and Kuota. Fontana is responsible for the development of KuotaLab in the head office of Villasanta, where the world champion runs the biomechanical department and the positioning of professional cyclists. Fontana has always had a solid relationship with Kuota, who have followed his career from the beginning.
